The Journey of Mobius Barnaby

Mobius Barnaby – Cello, Bass and Vocals

“I’ve been full of music all my life. Before I could talk, I would sit at the piano with my mother and sing harmonies. I’d not go to sleep in my cot unless Beethoven or Vivaldi were playing. They would say I was just ‘one big ear’… Music became my whole life and eventually took me through the study of Cello, Opera, Contemporary music and Jazz at the Queensland Conservatorium Of Music. It was here that I discovered a love of music other than classical. I began to experiment and formed several alternative music groups with the people around me. But harmonising with others has always been at the heart of my passion for music. Whether it be in a choir or simply an exchange between two people, there is something so special about the sound that is made when humans are singing together.

Being a part of The Heart Collectors is a beautiful journey of discovery and growth, in particular being a part of bringing back ‘good old’ four part harmonies… the main stream sound seems to me to have lost the feel for what makes music truly great. So, perfecting what it takes to be in ‘harmony’ with others feels like an important thing to do at this time. I hope our music can touch many, and that it moves people to come back into harmony with others, remembering we are all in this together.”
