Dear Friends,

Over the final weeks of our extended USA Tour we came face to face with the dramatic events of Hurricane Helene.

We were scheduled to play at renowned music venue ‘White Horse Black Mountain’, arriving in the mountains the day before the hurricane hit. As the storm grew, we lost power, water and phone service. Over the coming days, we witnessed landslides all around, power lines down, roads devastated, and houses washing away. We understood catastrophic damage had been done.

Called to action by our hearts’ need to help and heal, we have written and released a song of our experience.

As a gesture to support those affected by Helene’s destructive power, we are offering ‘Carolina Mountains’ as a download with suggested donation of $5 USD, directly supporting the relief effort. We hope you can take a moment to listen to our new song. May it be, in some way, a healing current to wash over hurting hearts at this time. The people of Catawba Falls Preserve (where we were during the storm), have been doing extraordinary work supporting their local community, friends, neighbours, as well as nearby communities and strangers alike – many of whom are still cut off from power, water and communication. They’ve become a command centre for food distribution and ongoing rescue efforts in their area. We’ve remained in close contact with them, and they are deeply grateful for our help in sharing their story.

In such a heartbreaking time, we know our efforts are small, but we feel compelled to be a part the long recovery process, which will take months, if not years.

With love and gratitude,
Mummager and The Heart Collectors

The Message From Catawba Falls Reserve – The place we were staying when the storm hit.

“Hello friends. We are a small community in the mountains outside of Black Mountain. We have been very fortunate to not have suffered any deaths or significant loss of property. We have a Starlink connection running on a portable gas generator in our Community Center. CFP is serving as a communication, food and meal distribution command site for several adjacent communities. Through this linkage we have been able to coordinate with emergency services to have supplies for these communities and other local residents helicoptered into our site. These helicopter pilots are funding these rescues out of their own personal savings and sleeping in a barn with no power. By this note we are asking anyone wishing to help with recovery in devastated Western North Carolina to donate to fund these wonderful self-less individuals. Thank you for your help”.
