The Story Of Our Name

The Story Of Our Name

The Heart Collectors was given to us by the people – we originally wanted to be called ‘The Art Collective’ – but upon discovering that was already taken we settled for the ‘Heart Collective’. It was over the course of a couple of months – trying out the name and playing in our local area that our family and friends affectionately called us The Heart Collectors. Kym’s Mumma and our band manager – ‘Mummager’, repeatedly introduced us a ‘The Heart Collectors’. It began to stick and we eventually realised that it just sounded and felt right! So we adopted The Heart Collectors.

Our purpose is to bring joy, to give love and share a happiness with people that can change the way we feel, act and live moment to moment. If we can make a difference in someone’s day even in a small way, perhaps that difference can ripple out, catch on and spread through the world . We want to remind people of innocence, integrity and that there is a strength in vulnerability. It is ok to be real, in fact it is an incredibly powerful thing. And so, to collect people’s love and give it back is a sacred gesture, a circle of energy that we cherish. “Our hearts are held in our hands soft and safe to grow in place, like a flower of vulnerability, made strong with tears and bold through fears learning to see, call it the power of tranquility” (Lyrics from Wildfire, Back To The Garden).

*PS – The handwriting is Mummagers writing. We asked her early on if she’d help us come up with the band logo. We loved her handwriting so much, that this became the band’s logo and image.
