Introducing Mummager
If you’ve been to one of our shows, chances are you’ve seen her. She might have greeted you at the merch table with a warm smile, passed you a flyer in the street, or nodded kindly from behind the sound desk. Maybe you received an email from her with the tour schedule, or watched her quietly support the stage setup, always one step ahead. Her name is Drew Porter. But to us, and to many around the world, she’s known as Showme. And affectionately, by most who’ve met her on the road, she’s become our Mummager.
To describe Showme only as our manager would barely scratch the surface. She is truly a force of nature…! We call her ‘The Fifth Element’. She’s the woman who makes the impossible seem effortless. A powerhouse of intelligence, insight, humour, unwavering energy and love, she currently holds together the intricate workings of life on the road for The Heart Collectors – from the venues, the communications, the finances, the production, the travel etc… Every moving part of The Heart Collectors that allows us to do what we do is touched by her. Without her, The Heart Collectors would not be where we are today.
She’s taught us how to navigate the music industry with Grace, professionalism and authenticity, always encouraging us to calve our own path, not to bend and conform to the usual way of doing things, and always remain independent. She’s encouraged us to dream big while staying deeply rooted in who we are. And she’s shown us, time and time again, that anything is possible when faith, trust and love leads the way. That’s part of the reason we call her Showme…
But behind the emails and tour van, behind the calm presence, there is another story, a very big story of transformation and awakening that has been lived in sacred spaces all across the world. This story will one day be a book… but for now let us begin to share a glimpse of it with you here.
For over two decades, Showme has travelled the world as a teacher, a luminary and transformative presence. Her work wasn’t about the ‘new age’ movement, or preaching, or religion, promising, or building a name for herself. No, quite the opposite. It has always been about helping others awaken to the deepest truth of their own being, to remember that we are all profoundly loved, already connected to an Infinite Source of life-force, of Love itself. Her presence and work has been a catalyst for hundreds of souls all over the world. Through the demonstration of her own process of awakening, she offered spiritual insight and healing help through workshops and one-on-one work where people could feel profoundly seen, held, and invited into a process of Real Transformation – to the Alchymie.
Her teaching work began with a vision, not just for personal healing, but for the transformation of humanity. Form the beginning she spoke of a world where people lived from the heart, where the divisions between belief and identity could dissolve into a deeper Unity. And she didn’t just speak it, she has lived and demonstrated it. Through these years of workshops, retreats, community building and one-on-one encounters, she helped light the fire of awakening in hearts all over the world. Those who have been touched by her work have often described it as a feeling of ‘coming home’, not to a place, but to a state of being that had been forgotten. Her journey took her throughout Australia, the U.S., Europe and back again, always quietly offering the blessing of real change wherever she walked.
Her transformative work in the teaching years was not always seen, and often, not even understood by the world at large. It wasn’t meant to be flashy. It was meant to be felt. Her presence, her sacrifice, and her capacity to stand in the fire of real transformation have impacted more lives than we can count. She has been the silent architect behind a movement that continues to ripple through the hearts of those ready to remember who they truly are.
And yet, in all of this, she never sought recognition. In fact, as The Heart Collectors band began to emerge, she intentionally stepped back. She didn’t want her past work to overshadow what was being created, instead opting to begin to help support the growth and empowerment of The Heart Collectors to be that very demonstration of love and Grace that she’d come to know herself. She wanted to let the music and power of healing through sound speak for itself, to let the audience experience the magic of the songs and performances without preconceived notions. She chose instead, to simply be our Mummager, the loving mum and tireless manager holding everything together, one email, one booking, one long drive at a time.
But over time, people have begun to ask: “Who is she really?”. There was something more, something many have come to feel about her but couldn’t put a finger on. And so now, gently, with reverence and humility, we feel it’s time to begin telling a bit more of her story. Not to ‘rebrand’ her, not to create an identity, but to honour the vast and beautiful path she has walked, as we continue to draw inspiration from it ourselves.. To acknowledge the years of dedication and transformative work that continue to fuel everything she does today, including her role in supporting us.
So this brief telling here is the beginning of revealing some of that journey. And (with her permission of course), we’d love to begin to share some more stories from the road, reflections and considerations from her work, and glimpses into the wisdom she continues to live by and support us with every day. It’s a way for us to say thank you. And it’s a way to welcome others into the greater story that has always been at the heart of what we do.
To those who have known her through her teaching work, you already know… To those who are only just discovering her, welcome.
With love and deepest gratitude,
The Heart Collectors
