“A touring Australian band have said that they are delighted to be playing in Kerry again this week, after they received such a warm welcome from locals on their first visit here in June last year.
‘The Heart Collectors’ , who are made up of lead guitarist Reuben, banjo player Tristan, lead vocalist and percussionist Kymrie and cello player Mobius, will play in Crowleys Bar in Kenmare on Thursday May 24 and in PF McCarthy’s in Kenmare on Saturday, May 26 and Sunday May 27 from 9pm onwards.
The band played in McCarthy’s bar in Dingle last Friday night and they said were left in shock by the wondergul reception they received.
“It went beautifully. It was just so much fun. We honestly didn’t know what to expect from the night but the room was packed with people, some of whom had heard we were coming from Australia. There were people from America there who had heard of us as well. It was amazing and wonderful to be surprised by so many fans of our music,” said Kymrie.
“We were in Kerry last year and musically, that whole trip was a huge inspiration for us as we set about writing our EP called ‘Out of the Ashes’ which we’ve just released,” said Tristan. The band, who arrived in Kenmare on Sunday said that while they were walking down the main street of the town putting up flyers and posters for their shows, they were delighted to see that so many people remembered them from last time. “It was a really good feeling to know that we’re going to have a really good audience at the shows which we’re very excited about,” Tristan continued.
The message for those attending the shows on Thursday and Saturday night is a simple one: expect a lively and fun filled show full of singing and possibly some dancing. You can check out more of the band on their Facebook, YouTube and Instagram pages or listen to their music on Spotify.
